Founded in Melbourne in 2009, Klika has grown into one of Australia’s leading online retailers, offering more than 30,000 products across categories spanning home and garden, fitness, outdoor recreation, pet supplies, and more. The company serves customers throughout Australia and New Zealand, carrying well-known brands such as Volley, Dents UK, Hush Puppies, and Kangol.
Like many online businesses that began on eBay, Klika soon reached a turning point. To continue growing, the team needed to extend its reach beyond a single sales channel while streamlining operations to support its expanding product catalogue and customer base.
After years of steady success, Klika recognised that relying solely on its own site and eBay was limiting its ability to scale. Managing product listings across multiple channels was increasingly complex, and the company wanted a more efficient, integrated system that could underpin long-term growth.
The team identified two key priorities:
With these goals in mind, Klika began exploring partnerships with established retailers and online marketplaces to diversify its reach.
In 2020, Klika made the decision to integrate with the Marketplacer platform to support its marketplace operations. This integration allowed Klika to connect its proprietary systems with a network of leading Australian retailers already operating on Marketplacer technology — including Myer, Barbeques Galore, and Woolworths Everyday Market.
Through a synchronised API connection, the Marketplacer integration was fully operational in just a few weeks, enabling Klika to automate core processes and improve accuracy across listings, orders, and fulfilment.
This partnership also opened the door to new collaborations with bricks-and-mortar retailers entering the marketplace space, helping Klika expand its audience while maintaining full control of its brand and operations.
To continue our growth, we knew we had to extend our reach and provide more ways for customers to discover and purchase our products. Following a marketplace retail model was clearly the best way forward for us.
